For the fourth year in a row, Stonehill tutors presented at the New England Peer Tutor Association Conference, this time at Assumption College in Worcester. 206 peer tutors from 23 colleges and universities throughout the Northeast attended the conference, with about 65 students presenting in smaller group sessions. This year’s theme was the Olympics – “Light the Way”.
Praveen Jain ’17, who tutors both physics and math, and Justin Blanch ’16, who tutors chemistry and biology, presented “The Tutoring Relay Race: Session Strategies to Win a Gold Medal”. More than 25 peer tutors attended Praveen and Justin’s session, which was overwhelmingly well received. Both Justin and Praveen felt like it was a great way to meet tutors from other schools and learn new tutoring strategies.
